Customer Service Apprentice

The successful individual will have the opportunity to progress and grow within a well-respected company with the position available at the end of the apprenticeship for the right candidate.Responsible for being the first point of contact for all The job role is varied but the main duties will include:


  • Callers into the Customer Service Department
  • Ensuring all calls into the department are dealt with promptly and in line with standards and procedures
  • Process customer orders accurately and promptly
  • Answer the basic technical enquires and advise on required products
  • Provide proof of delivery’s as requested and resolve and customer queries
  • Establish and develop strong working relationships, both internally, and with our offices in Spain to ensure a ‘one team approach’
  • Take ownership and responsibility for all enquiries into the department and identify correctly the customers’ needs
  • Take on any additional, reasonably expected, duties
  • Support and Training will be provided throughout


Qualifications required:

  • Ideally applicants should have at least 4 GCSE including English and Maths at grades 9-3
  • Proof of qualifications will be required before you can be accepted onto the apprenticeship.

Our apprenticeship involves both workshop and desk-based tasks, in addition to site work, both indoors and outside. Site visits can sometimes demand early starts or a later end to the working day.

For the right candidate who proves to be hard working reliable and with the diligence to complete their apprenticeship successfully a full-time role within the company is likely.

Training to be Provided:

Qualification: Customer Service Practitioner Level 2 Standard College Attendance: All assessment and training is undertaken in the workplace Training for all job specific tasks will be given. In addition the apprentice will have the support and guidance of a qualified assessor from the college, who will make on-site visits every 6-8 weeks. There may be the occasional need to attend either the Ipswich or Rural Suffolk (Otley) campus for short training courses and tests.


Other Information:

The day is spent desk based working most of the time on a computer taking many customer calls.


Personal qualities:

Applicants should demonstrate a technical awareness and show an interest in learning how electro-mechanical products and devices operate. In order to be successful the appointed candidate will need to be a quick learner with excellent communication skills. A good level of numeracy and computer literacy is also required. They will have a practical, questioning mind; enjoy solving problems and also a passion for looking after our customers.


The aim of this apprenticeship is to help with the future growth within the S&P Technical team. Successful completion of the apprenticeship will lead to a permanent full time position within the Technical Team as a Technical Assistant. Future opportunities leading on from this position can include one of a number of Technical support roles all of which have the potential to move into more senior roles.

Our normal working hours are Monday – Friday 8.30am – 5.00pm


Salary:

£230.00 (weekly)
