S&P UK’s innovative Silent Dual extraction fan has achieved national recognition after being unveiled as a finalist in the new Domestic Ventilation Product of the Year category at the prestigious H&V News Awards 2022.

Unique in the UK market, Silent Dual has two built-in sensors – humidity and PIR (passive infrared) – as well as demand controlled ventilation. Along with an intelligent control algorithm, it constantly monitors any changes to its surroundings, so when the humidity increases, the fan automatically and immediately responds to meet the challenge.

Silent Dual is certified by Quiet Mark and provides low-energy, low noise ventilation. The axial extraction fan can be wall or ceiling mounted and is suitable for simple installation in bathrooms, utility rooms, and other indoor spaces.

It is also designed to upgrade older fans because of its simple two-wire ‘plug and play’ installation that removes the need for a third switched live wire – saving time and cost.

Sales Director Lee Page said: “We are proud to have been shortlisted at the H&V News Awards and received such fantastic recognition for Silent Dual, an exciting new product that surpasses all predecessors and sets a new standard for bathroom extraction.

“We’ve carried out considerable market research and believe Silent Dual is the first bathroom extraction fan to offer built-in motion and humidity sensors as standard.

“Alongside the intelligent software that only runs the unit when required and only uses the right amount of energy for each situation, end users benefit from low running costs and energy consumption, as well as being more environmentally friendly.”

Silent Dual also supports healthy Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) by removing stagnant dirty air as well as any moisture – keeping indoor air pollution to a minimum for the residential sector.

Silent Dual is available in three sizes and exceeds safety requirements with its IP45 rating and exceeds current building regulations with an air flow rate of up to 27 litres per second.

The H&V News Awards have celebrated the achievements of the HVAC industry for almost 30 years – highlighting forward-thinking, innovative and customer-focused businesses.

The 2022 ceremony took place at the London Hilton Metropole on 24 November where the entire HVAC supply chain, including manufacturers, contractors, consultants and installers – and their customers gathered to recognise another stellar year for the industry.

Lee Page added: “We would like to congratulate all the winners and finalists, as well as the organisers. We were thrilled to have been recognised, and we had a fantastic evening.”
